abstract | The present invention provides compounds that can be used in combination for the treatment of diseases associated with conditions associated with brain accumulation of Alzheimer's amyloid, such as Alzheimer's disease. In addition, the present invention provides a combination of administering a therapeutically effective amount of a compound that can reduce β-amyloid production and capacitive calcium entry in cells, thereby producing β-amyloid production, β-amyloid deposition, β-associated with brain accumulation of Alzheimer's amyloid. Methods are provided to treat amyloid neurotoxicity (including abnormal hyperphosphorylation of tau) and microglia, or to reduce the risk of expression. The invention also provides a method for diagnosing a disease associated with brain accumulation of Alzheimer's amyloid in an animal or human by administering a diagnostically effective amount of a compound. |
