The present invention relates to a fire resistant polymer composition which forms a target mineral in a fire, comprising: 20 to 60% by weight of an organic polymer; 2-30 wt% of a magnesium compound which is oxidized to form MgO; And 5-30% by weight of silica. The composition preferably comprises an alkaline earth metal borosilicate compound, wherein the alkaline earth metal borosilicate compound forms a ceramic composition at elevated temperatures. |
