The invention relates to metal complexes and their preparation, in particular to a metal complex ML n X m, where M is 8, 9, or Group 10 metal, X is a halide, HCO 3 -, NO 3 - , CO 3 2 - or a carboxylate, n is a number less than the coordination number of the metal, m is the same as the oxidation state of 1 or 2 wherein the metal. Ligand L may be a coordination phosphine ligand of general formula (I), (II), (III) or (IV) as described herein. The manufacturing process comprises reacting an ammine compound of metal M with a complexing compound, preferably phosphine. |
