The present invention relates to an optical element forming composition comprising a curable dichroic dye and a curable liquid crystal compound used in the manufacture of an optical element having a vertically oriented narrow viewing angle, and an optical element having the optical element film formed therefrom. According to the present invention, there is provided an optical element forming composition comprising 0.1-90 parts by weight of a dichroic dye and 10-98.85 parts by weight of a curable liquid crystal compound, and an optical element having an optical element film in which a curable liquid crystal compound and a curable dichroic dye are vertically aligned. do.
