abstract |
The present invention relates to a polarizing optical element comprising a transparent optical base element 1 and a layered herbicide 2 comprising a polarizing film 2a. The polarizing film contains a dichroic dye and is uniaxially oriented. The layered structure is bonded to the optical base element by a layered structure 3 comprising at least a pressure sensitive adhesive layer. By the use of pressure sensitive adhesives, the polarizing film 2a maintains high polarization efficiency during bonding and, in particular, optical quality that is compatible with various uses of optical elements such as ophthalmic applications. |
