titleOfInvention System and method for detecting an image of an object by using an X-ray beam with a multicolor distribution
abstract A system and method are disclosed for detecting an image of an object using an X-ray beam with a multicolor energy distribution. According to one aspect, the method may include detecting an image of the object. The method may include generating a first X-ray beam having a multicolor energy distribution. Furthermore, the method may include placing a single monochromator crystal at a predetermined location so as to directly intercept the first X-ray beam to produce a second X-ray beam with a predetermined energy level. Furthermore, the object may be positioned in the path of the second X-ray beam so that the second X-ray beam passes through the object and the transmitted X-ray beam is emitted from the object. The transmitted X-ray beam may be directed at an angle of incidence on the spectrometer crystal. Furthermore, an image of the object can be detected from the beam diffracted from the spectrometer crystal.
