abstract |
The present invention provides compositions of inositol and its derivatives and salts and related compounds that reduce the titratable acidity and corrosion potential of various beverages and foodstuffs. In addition, as a result of its protective action against acid attack on tooth enamel (hydroxyapatite), its addition to food products has a protective action against hard tooth tissue. The composition also provides protection against other metabolic / degenerative diseases of the bone such as osteoporosis. The invention also provides a method for preventing dental caries and bone degeneration. |
