Expression Factors Derived from Duckweed and Plants |
abstract |
The present invention provides compositions and methods for modulating the expression of desired nucleotide sequences in plants. The composition comprises a novel nucleic acid molecule, variants and fragments thereof for expression control elements isolated from duckweed and ubiquitin, (r) -histone and chitinase genes of plants. The present invention also provides a method of expressing a desired nucleotide sequence in a plant using the expression control element of the present invention. The present invention also provides a novel signal peptide-coding sequence of duckweed and plants and a signal peptide encoded with the sequence. If the expression vector of the invention is designed to express a desired polypeptide, such novel signal peptide-coding sequences may be included in the expression construct of the invention to provide extracellular secretion of the desired polypeptide encoded. |
