Reinforced composite materials |
abstract |
The present invention relates to a reinforced composite material and a production method thereof. The composite material includes at least one cured resin having a reinforcing material. Preferably the reinforcing material is a plurality of glass fibers in which the properties of the interface substantially surrounded by each fiber are treated substantially the same as the properties of the bulk cured resin. The fiber treatment can be selected from the group consisting of polymer coatings, hydrophilic surface coatings, surface coatings of free radical inhibitors or reduction of the total surface area of the fibers. The reinforced composite material of the present invention provides improved long term mechanical properties compared to traditional glass fibers with reinforced materials.n n n Reinforced composite materials, hardened resins, reinforced fibers |
