abstract | By the reaction using a nitrile hydratase, there is provided a method for efficiently producing a corresponding amide compound from a nitrile compound, and a method for producing an amide polymer having excellent quality by the amide compound. In addition, by using a microbial catalyst containing nitrile hydratase or the like, a method of producing acrylamide of higher quality with higher efficiency, and using this acrylamide, is excellent in color and compatible with water solubility and high molecular weight. Provided is a method for producing this excellent acrylamide polymer.n n n As a solution, the method for producing the amide compound of the present invention is a method for producing an amide compound from a nitrile compound in an aqueous medium in the presence of a catalyst having nitrile hydratase activity, wherein the concentration of benzene in the aqueous medium is 4.0 ppm or less.
