titleOfInvention Slurry Spreader for Cement Board Manufacturing
abstract The present invention provides a forming table including a belt having a plane for transporting a support layer; A mixer designed to place the cement slurry on top of the support layer; A slurry spreader disposed downstream of the mixer, the portion of the slurry spreader comprising a plurality of openings connected with a compressed fluid source. The slurry spreader can be configured to flow the compressed fluid through the opening to the outer surface of the slurry spreader to form a continuous film of fluid over the outer surface of the slurry spreader.n n n The slurry spreader is positioned to contact at least a portion of the cement slurry after the slurry exits the discharge but before the slurry spreads through the width of the support layer. The thickness of the slurry is therefore approximately equal to the desired slurry thickness for board formation. The present invention provides a method for producing a cement board comprising the use of a slurry spreader.
