Ceramic membrane completely sealed and supported, and electrochemical cell and electrochemical cell stack comprising the same |
abstract |
The present invention relates to a ceramic film that is completely sealed and supported, and electrochemical cells and cell stacks associated therewith. The membrane comprises a thick ceramic support layer, preferably a thin electrolyte layer supported on a porous electrode layer supported on a ceramic electrolyte support. The support layer is divided into a plurality of thin self-supporting membrane regions by a thicker network of integral support ribs. Preferably, the thin electrolyte layer and thick ceramic support layer define a sealing periphery around the porous electrode layer. |
