Selective Neuro Stimulation Methods for Treating Eating Disorders |
abstract |
The present invention is directed to a method and apparatus for treating an individual suffering from an eating disorder comprising direct or indirect stimulation of a selected region of the brain associated with symptoms of the eating disorder. Stimulation therapy is programmable to allow physicians to optimize stimulation signal parameters to ameliorate one or more symptoms of polyphagia or other eating disorders. Certain examples employ deep brain stimulation and / or sensing in conjunction with brain nerve stimulation and / or sensing. |
