Precipitated calcium carbonate pigments, especially for coating inkjet printing paper |
abstract |
The present invention provides a paper coating for the production of coated "multipurpose" papers, in particular coated "multipurpose" papers for inkjet use, while reducing the cost of paper production and manufacturing while the print quality may be the same or very similar to that of high resolution commercially available papers. A novel and innovative PCC pigment that can be used in the formulation. The pigments are prepared by a carbonation process using CO 2 / air to form porous aggregates of PCC with very specific structure and unique properties, followed by concentration upregulation to produce aggregates having substantially the same but higher and appropriate solids content.
