abstract |
The present invention relates to a method and apparatus for treating uterine disease in a female patient by occlusion of the uterine artery of one or two patients. Procedures embodying the characteristics of the present invention basically block the uterine artery of one or two patients with an intravaginal device to form a thrombus in the occluded artery or arteries, and prolong the occlusion of the artery or arteries after removal of the occlusive device. Or an agent capable of initiating or promoting fibroblast apoptosis (planned cell killing). The intravaginal device has a pair of pivotally connected occlusion members with at least one occlusion member having a movable occlusion element of the distal shaft section of the occlusion member. |
