abstract Internal joints for medical devices such as stents, prosthetic devices, and delivery systems for delivering implantable articles and methods of making the internal joints are provided with internal engagement members having end engaging ends. The tubular inner guide channel member includes a first end and a second end defining a guide channel between the two ends, the first end having an inlet port and the second end having an outlet port. The distal end of the inner compression member is inserted into the second end of the inner guide channel member between the inner surface and the outer surface or fused to one of the inner or outer surface of the second end of the inner guide channel member. In another embodiment, the distal engagement end of the inner compression member is fused to either the inner or outer surface of the second end of the inner guide channel member.
