The present invention seeks to uncover the unexplained portion of the regulating mechanism of circadian rhythm. The present inventors newly discovered that RORα (retinoic acid binding receptor α, hereinafter identical) promotes expression of Bmal1 and promotes expression of Bmal1 in a hypoxic state. This suggests that when RORα expression is promoted in a hypoxic state or the like, Bmal1 expression is promoted, and when Bmal1 expression is promoted, binding of BMAL1 and CLOCK is promoted, thereby inducing expression of a Per gene or Cry gene. It strongly suggests the presence of the regulating mechanism of circadian rhythm. Therefore, there is a possibility that the present invention can be applied as a parallax syndrome modifier and an anticancer agent. |
