abstract | The present invention provides a phosphorescent organometallic complex. The complex of the present invention can be prepared in the form of a coating further comprising a charge transport host material that can be used in the emission layer in the organic light emitting device. As one specific example, the complex is a hyper-branched organic iridium complex comprising a 2-phenylfurridine ligand, wherein the phenyl ring or pyridine ring contains four non-hydrogen substituents. As another specific example, the complex is an organic iridium complex comprising a substituted 2-phenyl pyridine ligand, wherein at least one substituent comprises a spiro functional group. |
