abstract |
The present invention is based on in vivo evidence that RSV and PIV can be inhibited through intranasal administration of RNAi agents and parenteral administration of such agents. It is also suggested that effective virus reduction can be achieved and that more than one virus can be treated simultaneously. Based on this finding, the present invention provides general and specific compositions and methods useful for reducing RSV or PIV mRNA levels, RSV or PIV protein levels, and viral titers in a subject, such as a mammal, such as a human. These findings can be applied to other respiratory viruses. |
