titleOfInvention | Endoscope with improved maneuverability |
abstract | An endoscopy device and method for tubular conduits are disclosed. The device is provided with an insertion tube installed at the distal end with an optical head for visualization of the interior of the conduit. The insertion cannula engages with an expandable main sleeve that propels the endoscope in the conduit upon inflation. In addition, the insertion tube is associated with one or more auxiliary sleeves that provide additional propulsion to advance the insertion tube in the conduit upon inflation. By inflating the primary sleeve and one or more auxiliary sleeves, it is possible to distribute the thrust force along the cannula. |
