abstract | Disclosed are compositions for pharmaceutical and other uses and methods for preparing such solutions comprising a clear aqueous solution of bile acid that does not form any detectable precipitate in the range of selected pH values of the clear aqueous solution of bile acid. This disclosed composition comprises water; Bile acids in the form of bile acids, bile salts, or bile acids conjugated by amine and amide bonds; And water soluble starch integrants and water soluble non-starch polysaccharides. The composition is in solution without forming a precipitate in the range of all pH values obtainable in the aqueous system. The composition may, according to some embodiments, further contain a pharmaceutical compound in a pharmaceutically effective amount. The invention also provides primary solubilized bile acid formulations in dry form and methods of making such dry forms. |
