titleOfInvention Sepachlor Synthesis Method
abstract The present invention comprises the reaction of 7-amino-3-chloro cephalosporanic acid (7-ACCA) with D-phenyl glycine in the activated form to form cephachlor in the presence of an enzyme in the reaction mixture. To a method of synthesis, wherein at least a portion of 7-ACCA and / or PGa is added to the reaction mixture during the course of the reaction. The present invention also provides an aqueous mixture comprising greater than 10% by weight of sepachlor, less than 2% by weight of 7-amino-3-chloro cephalosporranic acid and less than 2% by weight of D-phenyl glycine and A method for recovering Sephachlor from an aqueous mixture. The present invention also relates to sefachlor in crystalline form having an absorbance (A 400 ) at 400 nm of less than 0.250.
