New P53 Target Gene SPI-1 and Uses thereof |
abstract |
The present invention provides a novel p53 target gene SISP-1, whose transcription is induced by p53, a cancer suppressor gene. (Stress Induced Secreted Protein-1) and SISP-1 protein. The inventors of the present invention first discovered that SISP-1 induces apoptosis through interaction with p53. The present invention provides the use of such genes or proteins for treating diseases associated with abnormal apoptosis such as tumors. |
