abstract |
(Magnetic Resonance Imaging)-Disclosed is a treatment method combined with diagnostic means for enhanced photodynamic therapy using MRI called induction photodynamic therapy. The method of the present invention provides for the administration of a polymer photosensitizer conjugate labeled with an MRI contrast agent, detection and localization of tumor or cancer tissue using contrast-enhanced MRI, and specificity of localized target tissue such as tumor or cancer cells using laser energy. Investigation and treatment. The delivered laser energy activates the photosensitizer accumulated in the target tissue to enable treatment. Also disclosed are novel conjugate compounds, such as the PLGA-Mce 6 -DOTA-Gd complex with multifunction, which complex may comprise an MRI contrast agent linked to a photosensitizer. |
