abstract |
The present invention provides a flowable composition suitable for use as a controlled release implant. The flowable compositions of the present invention comprise (a) biodegradable, biocompatible thermoplastic polymers that are substantially insoluble in at least an aqueous medium, water or body fluids; (b) a biological agent, its metabolite, a salt acceptable in the biological agent manner, or a prodrug thereof; And (c) a biocompatible organic liquid in which the thermoplastic polymer is soluble at standard temperature and pressure conditions. The invention also provides a method of medical treatment comprising administering a flowable composition into the eye region of a mammal. |
