An optical body is disclosed that includes an optical film and one or more roughly peelable skin layers operably connected to a surface of the optical film. The one or more rough peelable skin layers may comprise a continuous phase and a diffused phase. Alternatively, the one or more rough peelable skin layers can include a first polymer, a second polymer different from the first polymer, and additional materials that are not substantially miscible with one or more of the first polymer and the second polymer. In some exemplary embodiments, the surface of the one or more roughly peelable skin layers adjacent to the optical film includes a plurality of protrusions, and the adjacent surface of the optical film includes a plurality of asymmetric depressions corresponding substantially to the plurality of protrusions. . Also disclosed is an optical body comprising an optical film having a major dimension substantially colinear with the major axis of the optical film and a surface with an asymmetric depression having a minor direction substantially colinear with the minor axis of the optical film. Also disclosed are methods of making such exemplary optics.n n n n Optics, optical film, rough peelable skin layer, asymmetric depressions |
