The present invention provides an organic EL device having a long lifetime capable of reducing the driving voltage of the organic EL device, and provides a material having a small ionization potential and exhibiting a large hole mobility when used as a layer or a band. The organic electroluminescent device comprises a pair of electrodes and an organic light emitting device sandwiched between the electrodes, the hole transport band provided between the electrodes comprising a phenylenediamine derivative having a specific structure, wherein the phenylenediamine derivative is used as a layer or a band. When used it is characterized in that it has a hole mobility of at least 10 −4 cm 2 / V · s and the organic light emitting layer contains a charge injection aid. |
