The present invention provides gastrin-specific interfering ribonucleic acid (RNAi) molecules that downregulate gastrin hormone genes. RNAi molecules of the invention are double-stranded RNA molecules that may include modified bases and non-phosphate linkages between bases. The complementary chains of RNAi molecules of the invention can be linked by nucleotide chains or non-nucleotide linkers. RNAi molecules of the present invention are directed to gastrin-mediated diseases or pathologies, including gastrin-mediated tumors, GERD, Solinger-Elison syndrome, hypergastrinemia, pernicious anemia, gastric urea, duodenal ulcer, and H. pyrroli infection It may be formulated into a pharmaceutical composition useful for the method of treatment. |
