abstract |
According to the present invention, an optimization process and apparatus for carrying out liquid phase oxidation of oxidizing compounds effectively and economically are described. This liquid phase oxidation is carried out in bubble column reactors which provide a very effective reaction at relatively low temperatures. If the oxidative compound is para-xylene and the product from the oxidation reaction is crude terephthalic acid (CTA), the CTA product is purified by more economical techniques than those used in the formation of CTA by conventional high temperature oxidation processes. And can be separated. |
