The solid oxide fuel cell 10 includes a manifold 12, a plate, a cathode electrode, a fuel cell 18, and an anode electrode. The manifold includes an air or oxygen inlet 24 connected to the branch path over the outer periphery of the cell to combine air or oxygen to flow radially or inward to receive at the center of the cathode flow field. The cathode flow field generally includes an interconnect 40 that provides a circular cooling path for cooling the fuel cell in a radially outward direction, the interconnect being formed of a material having a different thermal conductivity for good cooling.n n n n Fuel cell, oxidant, manifold, cathode, anode, hydrocarbon, electrode, cracking, stack, electrolyte layer, module, rib, thermal conductivity, temperature gradient, flow field |
