abstract |
Dynamic equilibrium devices, systems and methods of the knee improve total knee arthroplasty (TKA). Such devices generally include a fixed femur element detachably mounted to the distal femur and an adjustable femur element associated with the fixed femur element to adjust the ligament tension of the knee. The adjustable femur element includes at least one positioning recess to provide position and / or orientation information for performing the TKA procedure. The adjustable femur element is also movably coupled with the tibial element associated with the proximal tibia to allow movement of the knee over a range of motion without removing the device from the articular space. When adjusting the adjustable femur element, the positioning portion moves relative to the distal femur to provide position information. |
