The present invention provides devices incorporating the coated nanostructures themselves and the coated nanostructures as well as the ligand compositions for use in the preparation of discrete coated nanostructures. The present invention also provides a method of shell formation after deposition on nanostructures and a method of reversible modification of nanostructures. The ligands and coated nanostructures of the present invention are particularly useful in dense nanostructure compositions and can improve quantum confinement and / or reduce crosstalk between nanostructures. |
