titleOfInvention | Endoscope device provided with an inflatable propulsion sleeve |
abstract | The device 10 for endoscopy of the body passages includes a flexible endoscope and an inflatable sleeve 42 that can propel the endoscope within the body passages upon inflation. The endoscope is provided with a base end 12 and a distal end 16, which distal end has an insertion tube, a bend 32 and a probe 36. The sleeve includes a rear fold 15 and a front non-fold 17. The sleeve is detachably coupled with the insertion tube, and the rear portion of the sleeve is disposed behind the bend. During endoscopy, the posterior portion is unfolded upon inflation to propel the endoscope into the body passage, while the anterior portion remains constricted to cover the bend and probe. |
