titleOfInvention | System and method for measuring analyte concentration of chemical or biological material |
abstract | The present invention relates to a handheld system and method for determining the concentration of multiple chemical or biological materials requiring in situ analysis of multiple chemical or biological materials. The new and unique handheld sensor system utilizes a spectroscopic detector and one-time optical test elements that measure test element responses to specific analytes through changes in absorbance, changes in luminescence, and other forms of light-based response. In this manner, the reflected light intensity indicating the test element response can be used to measure the concentration of the target analyte. The sensor system may be interfaced to an information processing unit or computer to manipulate or electronically store analysis data. |
