abstract | The present invention relates to the evaluation of environmental pollution using a bioindicator, and more particularly, to a method for detecting environmental pollution by hardly degradable bioaccumulated toxic compounds (PBTs) using an insect immune response as a biomarker. . In the present invention, the immune physiological responses to heavy metals, PCBs, and dioxin, which are major environmental pollutants, are analyzed by using the immune system of insects showing excellent detection ability against foreign factors. Insect immunity biomarkers of the present invention provided on the basis of the results of the analysis include hemocytic vesicle formation; Phenol oxidase activity; Phospholipase A 2 activity and apoptosis. Unlike the chemical analysis method, the environmental pollution evaluation using the insect immune biomarker of the present invention analyzes the risk factors that affect the ecosystem from the effects of environmental pollutants in a specific area on the living organisms of indicator organisms, The risk can be assessed as a whole and used in early warning systems to signal the presence of refractory compounds present in environmental samples. |
