abstract The present invention relates to xanthrene extracted from Schisandra chinensis, and an antioxidant composition containing the same. More specifically, 13 kinds of lignans are separated from the chemicals contained in Schisandra chinensis and exocyclic among them. The present invention relates to a novel homo-lignan of xanthrene having a double bond having a dibenzocyclooctadiene skeleton having a double bond, and an antioxidant composition using excellent antioxidant properties thereof. It is a useful invention to provide an dren, and to provide an antioxidant composition based on the antioxidant activity of the novel compound xanthrene according to the present invention.
