And a portion of the resulting carbon dioxide and hydrogen is removed from the syngas stream exiting the feedstock reformer to obtain a reduced hydrogen, carbon monoxide and methane syngas stream. Hydrogen and carbon dioxide are passed through a Fischer-Tropsch reactor catalyzed to produce methanol. Methanol produced in the Fischer-Tropsch reactor is passed with reduced hydrogen syngas through a second Fischer-Tropsch reactor catalyzed to produce ethanol.
