A carbon fiber structure having a three-dimensional network shape composed of carbon fibers having an outer diameter of 15 to 100 nm, wherein the carbon fiber structure has a shape in which a plurality of carbon fibers extend, and has a granular portion for mutually bonding the carbon fibers. This granular part is a composite material characterized by containing the carbon fiber structure formed in the growth process of the said carbon fiber in a matrix at the ratio of 0.1-30 mass% of the whole. With a small amount of addition, it is a composite material containing a carbon fiber structure capable of improving physical properties such as electrical properties, mechanical properties, and thermal properties without damaging the properties of the matrix.n n n n Carbon fiber structure, matrix, granular, outer diameter, bulk density |
