abstract The present invention relates to a miniaturized arbutin preparation using a supercritical fluid process, comprising: contacting by spraying a mixed solution of arbutin dissolved in an organic solvent into a supercritical fluid to generate arbutin particles and introducing a supercritical fluid into the particles. The present invention relates to a method of preparing ultrafine arbutin particles using a supercritical fluid process, which includes removing the organic solvent used in the mixed solution. In the method of the present invention, the particle size of the drug is miniaturized by changing the crystallinity of the drug itself through a change in temperature and pressure, which are operating variables of a supercritical fluid process, or a flow rate of a solution of arbutin and an organic solvent and supercritical carbon dioxide. Enhancement of skin efficacy due to increase may be usefully used in the preparation of arbutin preparations foreseen.
