Chaperonin 10 Regulation of Tacter-like Receptor Induced Cytokine and Chemokine Secretion |
abstract |
The present application relates to methods of using chaperonin 10 (Cpn10) to modulate Toll-like receptor signaling and / or Toll-like receptor induced immunomodulatory secretion. Cpn10 negatively regulates the secretion of Toll-like receptor agonist-induced pro-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines such as IL-6 and RANTES, respectively. Cpn10 positively regulates the secretion of Toll-like receptor agonist-induced anti-inflammatory cytokines and chemokines such as IL-10. Such immunomodulatory activity of Cpn10 may be useful for modulating diseases, disorders and conditions resulting from excessive pro-inflammatory cytokine and chemokine secretion. The present invention also relates to methods of generating, designing and / or screening Cpn10 agonists and antagonists according to their ability to modulate Toll-like receptor signaling and / or Toll-like receptor induced immunomodulatory secretion. |
