titleOfInvention Screen printed laminate with textured surface
abstract Multilayer laminates with a textured surface comprise a thin, flexible thermoformable polymer base layer and a layer of spaced apart segments of ink material, screen printed in a predetermined pattern on the surface of the polymer base layer. The ink material includes a UV curable screen printing ink containing a resinous binder, a curing agent and a particulate filler. The ink is pressed through a screen with an emulsion to form a thickness of about 40-50 μm. The ink segments are dried on the base layer by UV curing to have a height and hardness sufficient to form a thermally stable textured surface adhered to the base layer. In one embodiment, the printed ink layer has a print height of about 25-50 μm and is not deformed by subsequent thermoforming and / or injection molding. The ink segment meets the hardness and wear resistance standards required for automobiles.n n n n Screen printing laminate, polymer base layer, clear coat layer, texture surface, high gloss surface, matt release surface
