abstract | The short form version of the c-Maf transcription factor upregulates steroid-treated and transforming growth factor beta 2-treated stray net cells, with glaucoma compared to normal stray net cells and glaucoma compared to normal optic nerve tissue. It shows an increase. The expression of the short form c-Maf transcription factor under these conditions appears to be the causal or effector of the pathogenesis factors of primary open-angle and steroid-induced glaucoma. Antagonism of the expression and / or activity of short form c-Maf transcription factors in reticulum reticulum cells or other eye tissues provides inhibition or alleviation of glaucoma pathogenesis. Antagonists include cdk2 cyclin-dependent kinase 2 inhibitors. |
