Surgical clip appliers and methods are provided for applying surgical clips to blood vessels, ducts, shunts, and the like during surgical procedures. In one exemplary embodiment, a surgical clip applier is provided having a housing having a movably coupled trigger and an elongated shaft having an opposing jaw extending from and formed at its distal end.
