The present invention relates to a water-soluble iron oxide nanoparticles and a method for manufacturing the same, and more particularly, by coating a surface of iron oxide nanoparticles with polyvinylpyrrolidone, a biocompatible polymer that can be administered intravenously using pyrolysis of iron oxide precursors. The present invention relates to a method for producing a uniform size iron oxide nanoparticles that can control the particle size and is well soluble in water, and to a water-soluble iron oxide nanoparticles coated with polyvinylpyrrolidone. The water-soluble iron oxide nanoparticles can be utilized as an MRI contrast agent by having an excellent contrast effect.n n n n Iron oxide, nanoparticles, iron oxide precursor, pyrolysis, polyvinylpyrrolidone, coating, MRI contrast agent |
