abstract The bulb color light emitting diode lamp of the present invention is a semiconductor blue light emitting diode device (5) having an emission center wavelength in the range of 400 nm to 480 nm, and a phosphor that absorbs a part of the light emitted therefrom and emits fluorescence having a wavelength different from that of the light ( 11). This phosphor 11 is an alpha sialon represented by the general formula M p (Si, Al) 12 (O, N) 16 : Eu 2 + q and whose alpha sialon structure is the main phase. M is at least one material selected from the group consisting of Ca, Y, Mg, Li, Sc, Pr, Nd, Pm, Sm, Gd, Tb, Dy, Ho, Er, Tm, Yb, Lu, Sr Satisfies 0.75 ≦ p ≦ 1.0 or 0.02 <q <0.09. The chromaticity range of the light from the diode lamp is x = 0.4775, y = 0.4283, x = 0.4594, y = 0.3971, x = 0.4348, y = 0.4185, x = 0.4214, y = in the coordinates on the XYZ colorimetric chromaticity diagram. It is within the range of the bulb color represented by the quadrilateral connecting the four points indicated by 0.3887.
