abstract The present invention provides a method for producing a polyamide-12 powder by anionic polymerization of lauryl lactam in a lactam solution in a solvent, wherein the polyamide-12 powder is insoluble in the solvent, and the polymerization reaction isn n n In the presence of a catalyst and an activator;n n n In the presence of an organic or inorganic finely divided filler in a proportion of up to 1.5 g of filler per 1,000 g of lauryllactam;n n n Formula R1-NH-CO-R2 in a ratio of 0.001 to 0.030 mol of compound per 1,000 g of lauryllactam, wherein R1 may be substituted by radicals R3-CO-NH- or R3-O-, and R1, R2 and R3 represent radical aryl, alkyl or cycloalkyl]. The invention also relates to the use of such powders and to methods of making articles using such powders.
