Chemical transport container |
abstract |
A container is provided for storing powder reagents that interact with water to form an antimicrobial fluid for use in the apparatus for cleaning and microbiologically inactivating items. The container includes a fluid inlet connectable to a water source of the device for cleaning and microbiologically inactivating items and a fluid outlet in fluid communication with the items to be microbiologically inactivated. A continuous fluid passageway is defined through the container between the fluid inlet and the fluid outlet. A plurality of separation barrier elements are disposed in the fluid passageway to define a plurality of separation compartments within the container. The barrier elements are impermeable to powdered reagents, but are permeable to the chemical reagents when dissolved in a liquid. The first dry powder reagent is placed in one of the compartments to form an antimicrobial solution when water flows through the container. |
