abstract According to the present invention, there is provided an image display apparatus comprising an electron source consisting of a plurality of electron-emitting devices, and a vacuum container having a fluorescent film irradiated by electrons from the electron source and emitting light for image display. Thereby, the ion pump which exhausts a vacuum container through a communication path is provided. In addition, a magnetic shield member is installed in the space where the ion pump and the electron-emitting device communicate with each other, whereby the magnetic field generated by the magnetic forming unit affects the trajectory of the electrons emitted from any one of the electron-emitting devices, Eliminates nonuniformity of display luminance due to this effect.
