The present invention particularly relates to methods and reagents for the formation of disulfide bonds in proteins, peptides and amino acids. The methods and reagents of the invention are particularly useful for modulating glycosylation of proteins, peptides and amino acids. The process of the present invention utilizes thiosulfonates or selenylsulfide compounds as reagents or intermediates. Several proteins and peptides, including selenylsulfide groups, are also part of the invention. |
