The present invention relates to MgCl 2. (EtOH) m (ROH) n (H 2 0) p addition product {wherein R is a non-ethyl C1-C15 hydrocarbon group, n and m are greater than 0 and the equation (n + m) an index satisfying ≧ 0.7 and 0.05 ≦ n / (n + m) ≦ 0.95, p is a number in the range 0 to 0.7, provided that R is methyl and (n + m) is in the range 0.7-1 N / (n + m) value is 0.05 to 0.45)}. The catalyst component obtained from the addition product of the present invention can provide a catalyst for olefin polymerization characterized by enhanced activity as compared to catalysts prepared from the addition products of the prior art. |
